RFP: Marketing Agency for Chinese Market

The California Walnut Commission, headquartered in Folsom, California, will begin conducting activities in the Chinese market in 2008.  The Commission is seeking a Marketing Services Agency/Public Relations Firm and/or Trade Representative to coordinate our marketing/public relations activities and/or act as trade representative for the purpose of maintaining a close working relationship with all levels of the trade, including, but not limited to, the food processing industry (bakers, confectioners, etc), importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, and other organizations involved in the channels of commerce, vis-a-vis, walnuts from California.  In order to increase awareness and ultilization of wlanuts by the commercial users as well as consumers, an assortment of promotional and educational programs must be designed, implemented and evaluated.  Additionally, a Trade Representative is utilized to present our interests among Chinese importers and retailers.

Uder the U.S. Department of Agriculture Market Access Program (MAP) regulations, the Commission is required to solicit proposals from interested firms.  The Request for Proposal (RFP) guidelines, selection criteria and background information can be obtained from:

All inquiries and requests must be made in writing, in English and indicate the country for which you are interested in receiving materials and/or information from which to form the RFP.  All final proposals must be received in Folsom on or before Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
