Curried Walnuts

Ingredients

2 cups California walnut halves and pieces

1 Tbsp butter

1 Tbsp curry

Pinch of cayenne pepper

Pinch of granulated sugar

Pinch of salt

Dash of Worcestershire sauce

Directions
  1. In a medium saucepan, boil California walnut halves and pieces for 5 minutes.  Drain and discard any remaining liquid.  Arrange walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet.  Bake in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes.  Shake vigorously in a colander to remove any loose skins.
  2. In a nonstick skillet, melt butter over low heat.  Add curry and cayenne pepper; cook 1 minute.
  3. Toss walnuts in curried butter to coat.  Add sugar, salt and Worcestershire sauce; toss again.
  4. Store in a covered container.  Makes 2 cups.
