Apricot Crumble Bars

1 cup walnuts
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/ 3 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into bits
3 Tbsp. sweetened flaked coconut
1/2 cup apricot preserves
1/3 cup diced dried apricots
Confectioner sugar
- Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 8-in. square baking pan with foil, letting ends extend over edge on 2 opposite sides; grease foil.
2. In food processor, coarsely chop 1/2 cup cup walnuts; place in bowl. In processor, pulse remaining walnuts, the flour, sugar, and butter until dough clumps. Mix 1/2 cup dough and the coconut with reserved walnuts. Pat remaining dough into bottom of prepared pan.
3. In small bowl, mix preserves and apricots; spread over dough. Sprinkle with reserved dough-coconut mixture.
4. Bake 35 to 40 minutes, until top is golden brown. Let cool on wire rack. Dust with sugar. Lift by ends of foil to cutting board; cut into 16 squares.
