A buttery, brown sugar confection showcasing delicious toasted walnuts, topped off with a sweet maple crream. A special treat to share with family and friends!

- Ingredients

cooking spray with flour
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups toasted chopped California English walnuts
1 cup heavy whipping cream, very cold
1/4 cup pure maple syrup (I used Grade A Dark Amber)
- Directions

- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. To make the blondies, spray a 9 inch round baking pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
- Combine butter, brown sugar and sugar in a large mixing bowl and blend with electric mixer on high speed until well blended. Add in egg and vanilla. Stir flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda together in a small mixing bowl. Add flour mixture to butter and sugar mixture and blend until just combined. Stir in walnuts. Spread batter in prepared pan.
- Place in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and done.
- To make the maple cream, place whipping cream in a chilled mixing bowl and beat with electric mixer fitted with with chilled beaters on high speed until mixture forms stiff peaks. Fold in maple syrup.
- To serve, cut warm blondies into wedges and serve with a dollop of maple cream.
