Smart Options for Your Health

Your health should be a priority in your life.

Dr. Michael Roizen believes that “you can change the way your body works, and the way you feel, with the food you eat.” His interest in the Smart Menus™ program is based on his experience as a practicing physician who knows first hand that people can increase their quality of life with smart eating choices. Dr. Roizen has provided some initial ways you can start living “Smart”:

Exercise:

  • Walk 30 minutes a day and call someone and tell them you did it
  • Purchase a good pedometer
  • Suck in your stomach on every elevator you get on for the length of the ride (this will help strengthen your inner core muscles)

Diet:

  • Eat 10 tablespoons of tomato paste a week.
  • A favorite– roast some walnuts every day for 8 to 10 min on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees, and eat a handful a day.
  • Purchase a quality 8-inch kitchen knife to help easily and quickly prepare fresh food for recipes.

Lifestyle:

  • Cover up your mattress and pillows to avoid mites gathering in your bed and causing respiratory problems.
  • Air out dry cleaning for two days before you put it next to your body or in your enclosed house.
